The Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) is set to participate in the World Travel Market (WTM) later this year from November 5-7 in the United Kingdom’s capital London, marking its return to the international forum after two years.
NTB’s newly appointed CEO Deepak Raj Joshi said that the board has decided to take part in the WTM to further expand its international market presence, reported RSS, the state-owned news agency. “Participation in WTM has been a priority since I began my second term on September 8,” he added.
The WTM, held every November, is regarded as the second largest travel and tourism festival, after the International Tourism Exchange (ITB) which takes place each March in Berlin, Germany. The Board, however, did not participate in both forums in the past two years.
The Board plans to take at least 30 companies to the event. On Sunday, September 22, it called for the interested companies to apply.
Nepal has been a part of WTM for the past 40 years; under the banner of the the Department of Tourism for the first 15 years, then under the NTB’s banner since its establishment on December 31, 1998.
